Douglass High School, 3200 Mt. Olive: "Philosophers Garden: Sympathetic Imagination." The main entrance hall to historic Douglass High School will be enhanced by the unveiling of a large mural designed by artist Tobacco Brown. Ceremony begins Saturday with a parade at 9 a.m. The mural is a project of the UrbanArts Commission and the Memphis City Schools.

Immaculate Conception Cathedral (Marian Hall), 1695 Central Ave.: Immaculate Conception Cathedral School (IC) hosts "Benefit Art Exhibition and Auction" at 6 tonight. Live auction 7 p.m. Suggested donation: $25 (exhibition, refreshments, hors d'oeuvres, and a bid number for auction). Tickets available at the door. Original art from the Perry Berns Gallery (in Dallas, Texas) auctioned at prices far below the appraised value. Call 848-4134 or 683-1355.

Memphis Botanic Garden, 750 Cherry Road (Audubon Park): The Memphis Potters' Guild 28th annual Holiday Show and Sale. Opening reception, 5-9 tonight. Power House Memphis, 45 GE Patterson (between Front & Main Streets): Richard Lou: "The Stories On My Back." Fuel for the Fire -- Artist Lecture. 6-8:30 tonight. Fuel for the Fire program designed to introduce the public to the featured Fuel Room Artist. Artist gives a brief presentation on their background, processes, and current installation in the Fuel Room. Jack Robinson Gallery, 44 Huling (between Main & Front): "River Bluff Forge Council Show & Sale." Opening 6-9 tonight. Also open during Trolley Tour 6-9 p.m. Nov. 28.
